- American
Civil War Battles - This site contains descriptions
of most of the major battles of the American Civil
War (and some of the minor battles as well). We
will use this site to complete one of our assignments
when we read Chapter 12 in January.
- Family
Search - This web site is run by the Mormoms
(The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints).
It is the Internet hub of their efforts to
research the genealogies of all American citizens.
Perhaps your family information can be found
here?
- Ellis
Island Online Database 1892-1924 - (site is
currently down) This site
contains directions for searching the microfilm
records of American immigrants who arrived here
between 1892-1924. You can also find information
on U.S. census records and U.S. Naturalization records.
- Ancestry.com
- This is the most extensive collection of family
history records on the Internet. A lot of
their information requires membership, but your
family might think it's worth it for the wealth
of information available here.
- Family
Tree Magazine web site - This online magazine
resource has links to many Internet genealogy resources.
Definitely worth a look.
- Veterans
History Project - Read about the Veterans History
Project and find out how you can take part in this
effort to preserve American history.
- Instructions
for Class Project on Veterans History - Here
you will find a step-by-step process for completing
our 4th marking period class project on Veterans
history. (You will also be given a printed
set of instructions at the end of April. The
project is due on June 1st.)
And, of course, you can always try a google.com
search for whatever you seek on the Internet!
